tpg_vietnam_foundation_schoolarship

The Vietnam Foundation (VNF) would like to send the warmest greetings to all universities.

VNF is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, which is founded by the US National Academies. It is located at National Academy Building, suite 507, Washington D.C, United States. In Vietnam, VNF operates under a license BM493/UB-HD approved by the Commission Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). VNF's representative office is at Building 21, suite 902, 9th floor, Lang Ha Street, Hanoi.

The ultimate mission of VNF is improving the lives of Vietnamese people through education. Currently, VNF is collaborating with UNESCO Vietnam, the Ministry of Education & Training   and universities across Vietnam to deploy the Vietnam Opening Education Resource program – VOER Program (www.voer.edu.vn). In addition, VNF runs many other meaningful programs, such as Scholarships and Laptops program for visually impaired students, or education exchange programs between Vietnamese and American educational institutions.

In 2013, VNF will cooperate with TPG Capital, a reputable private equity firm based in California, United States in its TPG Growth project (www.tpggrowth.com). In Vietnam, TPG Capital has made successful investments in growing Vietnamese companies, such as FPT and Masan. This collaboration aims at awarding scholarships to the most talented students from the top universities in Hanoi. Five scholarships, $2,000 US dollars each, will be offered to five (05) outstanding students.

To VNF, this will be a pilot program to honor and support talented university students, paving the way for future university education programs. To TPG Capital, this serves as a charity activity to support Vietnam education.

VNF respectfully hopes that the University administrators will work together to organize effectively the aforementioned program. We would like to ask you to conduct the following actions:

-          Nominate three (03) students with the most outstanding academic achievement (among students in the highest percentile of grade point average or students with special outstanding achievements). Priority is given to students who can understand and speak English fluently.
